My work is driven by a love of storytelling, which I explore through considered design, colour and light in my illustrations.
Story is at the heart of what I do, which is why I love working across different industries as an Artist.
Each involves their own style of immersion and require different forms of collaboration, which is great, because it offers so many opportunities to develop my skills and have a fresh way of thinking for each project, which is super fun!
I'm often drawn to projects that are full of heart, adventure and charm, with a special fondness for the offbeat and mysterious.
I've always found a lot of inspiration in the strange and peculiar. Things that are beautiful and haunting in their own way. Because of this, I find myself drawn to things that have a sense of magic or spookiness. I grew up on tales from R.L Stein, Snicket and Dahl, Tim Burton and Gaiman, which perhaps explains a lot.
I studied Illustration at Norwich University of the Arts, followed by an MA in Concept Art at Teesside University, and since then, I've been working as a Freelance Artist on all kinds of wonderful projects, with all kinds of wonderful people.
I'm from Yorkshire, but now live in the lovely old city of Norwich, in the East of England, with my
'Dog of Mischief' Loki, where you'd probably find me tucked away in my home-studio listening to podcasts and audiobooks (my favourite is Neil Gaiman's 'The Sandman'), a cup of tea in hand (strong english breakfast) and illustrating my socks off! (promptly stolen by the aforementioned Dog of Mischief).
When I'm not drawing, I enjoy reading, long walks along the coastline on blustery days, and finding peculiar treasures in antique shops.
Thanks for stopping by!
